Hi everyone, hoping I can get your help on this one.

I have my folder items arranged by kind and sorted by name. But when I keep opening up folders, the documents are never sorted by name (I'm not sure how or what they are sorted by) until I refresh the folder. Any idea how to resolve this? I'm not even pushing the processor in any way when this happens too (fresh reboot). I have a late 2013 rMBP with 16 GB ram, 2.6 Ghz i5. Thanks

edit: I reindexed the computer but it doesn't seem to have helped. Strangely enough, I opened up a folder and for a split second it was sorted properly. Then immediately afterwards, it went into the some random order again!

Bump!

Anyone experience these problems?

Try to adjust your settings for that folder and then select "Use as Defaults" as in the screenshot.

Arrange by "Name"
Sort by "snap to grid" if you wish.

Finder has a lot of issues

I recently installed 10.9.4 and found that Finder is very slow in perfoming almost everything.
Even opening a new file may take 30-60s.
If I force quit Finder, often all icons from the desktop disappear and I need to restart.
Any suggestions?
J
