I’ve been on iPad Pro only for last few months. And now looking at a 15’’ or 16’’ MacBook Pro feels weird. To me the bottom part of the MBP feels so weird and huge. I know it’s just the same size as the screen part so it’s even when closed.

It must be because I’ve gotten used to a much smaller bottom part with the iPad Pro smartfolio keyboard.

But yes that 16’’ is huge

I have the opposite impression, since I am used to traditional laptops. Having the screen part be bigger and thicker than the keyboard seems weird and unstable.

I use a 11" iPad pro and a MBP 16". The iPad fees unstable to me when I type on Apple Folio keyboard. The thing shakes as you type. A MBP is rock solid. And there is whole poking the screen. I often use a BT mouse with my iPad because I am much faster editing documents, spreadsheets, etc with a mouse.

So for me the net is for consumption, watching videos, reading documents or websites, the iPad is great. But as a tool creating things it still does not match the functionality of a laptop. And laptops do not match the functionality of a desktop system, especially one with multiple monitors.
