So I noticed something strange by accident the other night. When in Safari, if I tap (not click) the home button twice a gray box pushes down from the top... But there's nothing in it. I've attached a screen shot, curious if this is something the Apple team intended to remove? I tried it on my wife's 5S with iOS 8 and it does NOT do it... So it's 6 only. Let me know what you think and if u can replicate the same.

Also it goes away with one tap of the home button.

That's a feature called Reachability. It allows you to more easily get to things at the top of the screen while using the phone one handed. Whatever is on your screen slides down half way so you can reach it.

Effectively it turns the middle of the actual screen into the top... you can swipe down in the middle while that is active and the notification center will come down like normal.
