I got a 1TB Toshiba drive that I used it as a Time Machine encrypted disk. I wanted to repartition it but no use , so I went to the terminal used "diskutil delete" and deleted the LVD or whatever its called. Any way, I went back to disk utility now I can repartition the drive so I FORMATED the drive using "erase" tab , then I repartitioned it into 3 partitions :
400GB , 60GB, and 540 GB - Mac Journaled non encrypted.
the thing is when I click "eject" on the disk, usually disks would spin a little bit then it will kind of go to sleep and the light on the disk will turn off I then remove the HDD. With this particular HDD , when I hit eject , even though it goes out of my desktop , the light keeps staying on and I here it spinning like its doing something, I checked disk utility and the external HDD is still there with all 3 partition but their names are kind of in light grey . I hit eject again no use.
So I just pulled the USB , repartitioned , but same issue. I still have not used the HDD yet , its empty. Should I be worried or is this normal?
This HDD is new and I have only used it as a Time Machine backup twice.
