Hey guys this is my first post on this forum. I've been enjoying reading all of the rants for a while now, so I figured I would start ranting myself! :D I figured I would share the experiences I've had lately with my Imac and my local Apple service provider.

A few weeks ago my Mac started displaying signs of a failing logic board. The screen kept randomly shutting off and the only way I could get it back was to put it to sleep or shut it off and then bring it back. I took it to my local shop and they replaced the system board. It took a litte over a week to get it back. I just got it back yesterday. I noticed that my 3d effects of OSX such as fast user switching & the widget ripple effect were quite slow. I looked in my system profiler and found that i have 32 mb of VRAM instead of the 64 mb my Mac came with.

The weird part is that it shows my video card as an Nvidia GeForce 5200, which is the same I had before. The 5200 only comes with 64 mb, correct? Something is definatly screwy. So now i have to take my precious Mac back tomorrow and it will probalby be gone another week while they try to figure out what the problem is. ARRRG!

I attached a screenshot of my system profiler, weird huh?

I have a backup old Compaq Deskpro 4000 with a mind-crushing 200 MHz proc to tide me over. At least i can check my .Mac e-mail.

Ok I'm done, thanks for listening!
