Hey,

I have 2 rather weird iMac screen problems.

1) Weird marking on screen. Just turned up today. It's not on the surface of the screen and seems to make the pixels below fuzzy.

2) Half the screen is darker than the other. Almost as if the backlight is selectively broken.

What do you think is the problem and because I am out of warranty, what would you suggest as a solution?

It looks like... mold? Did it get wet? No doubt the LCD panel will have to be replaced.

Take it in to an Apple store if you can even if you don't have Apple Care. They might be able to help.

I had the same problem after week of vacation. It's condensation probably. Just keep your mac on until it gets warmer and the moisture spot evaporates.

Yes, that's it. You should try to keep air moisture at a lower level, then you won't have this problem
