OK I replaced my glass and my screen tonight.

Everything went ok, it looks good, fit together right, etc.

However, the backlight goes out if i press somewhat hard on the top half of the screen. It's almost as if there is a short or something, or i'm grounding out the back light. It's very very hard to explain. Is there something obvious I might have missed when reconnection? Should some contact not be touching somewhere?

Thanks.

it's the proximity sensor that turns off the backlight and touch screen when it detects your face / skin / etc. It is at the top :)

Mind if I ask what happened to the glass?

i don't think hes THAT stupid

anyway he said he was touching the top half of the "screen". The proximity sensor is at the way top of the bezel.

I dropped it on concrete and got a few scratches that drove me nuts. Yea it's not the proximity sensor as it happens all the time not just on phone calls and only happens with pressure. Also the screen stays on just the backlight goes out.
