Down south
I changed phones a few days ago, and when doing the transfer of all my stuff, it asked if I wanted to pair my AW with my new phone. I said yes, and I get text messages on the watch here and there, but sometimes it shows the phone with the line through it like it’s not in range, even when my phone is next to me. When I open the watch app on my new phone, the watch is not in there.

What do I need to do? I can’t unpair and re-pair because it isn’t showing it paired. The other phone I was using it with has been erased, reset and is now my granddaughter’s.

Edit to remove my initial response, which was to make sure Watch is not in Airplane mode.

Sorry! I misread the situation - that your watch is not showing up in the App.

Hope you get helpful responses soon!

Yeah me too. I just got texts on it from my daughter, opened the watch app, and it STILL isn’t showing as paired with my phone. It’s SO weird.

Perhaps one of these two articles can help.

This one is for iPhone, iPad, or iPod, but advice on how to unpair if you don't have the device.

Or, for the watch, but it assumes you still have it, but you may be able to un-pair

probably the only thing you could do is (on the Watch itself) Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and after that you should be able to pair it with your new iPhone again.

Bob is correct.

I have been through what you described, Stacey. Like you, I found out the transfer process doesn’t really work for Apple Watch like it does the iPhone.
