I have had this combo since launch and only in the last 1-2 weeks this issue arose.

When i am using the magic keyboard in ANY app, if i try to scroll with two fingers slowly on the trackpad nothing happens. apps will only scroll if i do a fast agressive two finger scroll/swipe, but then obviously it scrolls way too much. It does not react AT ALL if i scroll very slowly or slowly with two fingers. only if i do it fast and hard.
If i click down into trackpad and do a drag scroll or scroll with my finger on the actual touch screen of the ipad even for a moment, then the app is fixed for a while and fine/slow scrolling on trackpad resumes function normally. then later in the day or after i lock the ipad, the same issue happens and i cant do slow/fine scrolling on the trackpad until i touch the screen first with my finger in the area i want to scroll, then the trackpad works again normally.

I don't think this is a hardware issue with the trackpad since the trackpad works fine when using it as a cursor, and two finger scrolling works fine (only after i touch the screen). It's rather annoying since i use this ipad/keyboard combo as a laptop replacement companion to mac studio so i really want to be able to two finger scroll with no issues. i have restarted the ipad. i do have an ipados update available but id rather not since everything worked perfectly for so long already. last resort i guess i could restore the ipad but id rather not as well.
any tips?

I don’t think I’ve had this exact problem . . . but occasionally I get some form of trackpad wonkiness with my identical setup. What cures it for me is to pull the iPad away from the MagicKeyboard a couple times to help ensure that the smart-connector dots can pass signal cleanly. Maybe they oxidize over time, I dunno. But this reconnect seems to always correct the trackpad wonk for me.
