Weird issue with OneNote running in VirtualBox...?

So I'm running Office 2010 in Windows 7 through VirtualBox and it runs great however there's one slight problem. If I mute the volume on my MBP and attempt to record in OneNote nothing actually records. When I unmute it will record no problem. I've check that the MIC is picking up sound (in Window sand OSX) even when the speakers are muted so I have no idea what could be causing this...

Am I missing something? Or is this just a weird bug w/ VirtualBox/OneNote/Windows7?

Any ideas? Anyone else experience this? Want to test it out for me?
