weird itunes account issue...

for some reason i cannot view my account within itunes on my macbook. i'm logged in as it shows my id in the upper right hand corner but when i click account anywhere it keeps prompting me for my password over and over. my password is correct because i can log in and view my account on other computers, my iphone, and apple.com. has anyone encountered this? i've reinstalled itunes and still no luck. any suggestions?

I'm sure you already checked if you've got a different keyboard layout on your Macbook or if you've got Caps Lock on.
