For whatever reason, the BigBoss repo was never put on my 4S (currently 5.0.1). Today I finally got around to adding the source, and then I used AptBackup to try to put the BigBoss packages back on.
After the phone rebooted, all of the stock apps and jailbreak apps were there, but none of the App Store apps. And the NYTimes Newsstand Subscription was in a funny place (I normally put the Newsstand "folder" in a separate folder). After a minute or two all of the apps just reappeared alphabetical order, not in any folders. When I dragged the NYTimes into a folder, it just disappeared. There's been no issue with media/contacts/other settings. I finally moved everything back around in its place. For good measure, I rebooted the phone. Then the same problem reappeared.
I've been jailbreaking for four years, and have never come across any issues. Has anyone heard of something like this before? I know that a 5.1.1 JB is out and this would seem like a good time to restore from backup and then JB. But my concern is that when I get to the 5.1.1 JB and run AptBackup, the problem will happen again.
I do know that normally when I open the Newsstand in the folder, the phone freezes and reboots itself.
