weird login request from one email...

my GF got an email from an old friend today, and every time she opens it, she sees this on top of the email (it does NOT seem to happen on older email from the same person)... any ideas what's happening? thanx...

My guess is that there is a remote image or content in the email and it is behind a password protected web server. It's very unlikely that any of your girlfriend's passwords would work on that. I suggest, clicking the cancel button to view the email without the protected content or deleting it.

thanks! actually, found the image, a link to that site, far down in what is a long conversation. so, mystery solved..
