Weird Macbook Pro problem.

It's a 2012 cMBP with Samsung 840 pro SSD. The problem is I'm getting the no entry sign (for a split second the apple logo will flash up). The weird thing is if I turn it off and leave it 30 minutes it will then boot up.

I've done a fresh install, checked for any loose connections and the SSD is showing as 100% healthy but still the problem persists.

Anyone had a similar problem? or an ideas what the problem may be?

13"? They have a documented issue with the HDD SATA cable failing. This actually has a silent repair program with Apple, so if you pop into an Apple Store, they'll replace the HDD SATA cable free of charge. You'll be covered for this issue until 2021.

Even if you've got the 15", the issue you're encountering is definitely relating to the SATA cable.

Yeah, 13". Thanks a lot mate. I didn't find anything about cable failing when doing a search of the problem. Will try and get to an Apple store for them to fix. Your help is much appreciated!
