It's a 2012 cMBP with Samsung 840 pro SSD. The problem is I'm getting the no entry sign (for a split second the apple logo will flash up). The weird thing is if I turn it off and leave it 30 minutes it will then boot up.

I've done a fresh install, checked for any loose connections and the SSD is showing as 100% healthy but still the problem persists.

Anyone had a similar problem? or an ideas what the problem may be?

13"? They have a documented issue with the HDD SATA cable failing. This actually has a silent repair program with Apple, so if you pop into an Apple Store, they'll replace the HDD SATA cable free of charge. You'll be covered for this issue until 2021. :)

Even if you've got the 15", the issue you're encountering is definitely relating to the SATA cable.

Yeah, 13". Thanks a lot mate. I didn't find anything about cable failing when doing a search of the problem. Will try and get to an Apple store for them to fix. Your help is much appreciated!
