weird mute switch behavior

so when i switch my phone into vibrate mode all my videos are also muted. i can play videos from the web and twitter links but they have no sound. my youtube videos straight from the app still work properly. anyone else having this? i never had this happen on any of my iPhones. i thought that switch was simply to mute ring and notification sounds.

I, too, have noticed this behavior within certain apps... I cannot recall which apps they were specifically (maybe YouTube?). I think it has to do with certain app behaviors, an inconsistency within code.
