Hi guys;

Seem to have a new option on my automatic downloads I've not noticed before...? Now I have an automatic download for writing, any ideas what that's for?

My pleasure :)

Glad to see I'm not going mad! Odd option though, and the icon seems very un-apple like; at first I thought it might be a third party app, but then to my knowledge they can't add an option here. Very weird indeed.

Are you sure it's not some app you might have subscription with? I have both NY Times and Mac | Life there. It's because I subscribe to both.

I thought the same thing, but I see nothing in the iTunes store that appears to have that title and app icon. I suppose it could be named something other than "Writing".

I have the NY times app there, so it can be a 3rd party app i would hope you know what apps are on you iPad. Lmao

edit: its been said already

How does new stuff like that just randomly show up without a software update?

The Store preferences checks a new XML file from Apple each times is launched. If there are any changes, it incorporates them into it's settings. The Music/iPod settings can do this as well. I would image the Photos one can do this as well, possibly more. This functionality was first presented in the iOS 4.3 update.

I have been continuously predicting a new Apple designed note taking app/apple designed stylus at the iPad 3 event. Could this be a clue? I doubt it, but I think it would be awesome. The current state of styli for the iPad is nowhere near good ole pen and paper. And with Apple really pushing into the education market it only makes sense they'd address the issue and innovate on note taking on the iPad. But again, I'm sure it's probably nothing.

I have a few magazine subscriptions in Newstand. They show up in that spot.
Have you subscribed to anything lately ?

Ahhhh... That's the one, I'd subscribed to a magazine and forgotten about it. Oh well, excitement over there than!

Hmm, I was excited at first, i was hoping it was a placeholder for some fancy iCloud document syncing stuff.
