A few months ago I began having issues with my Mac Mini where the keyboard and/or the mouse would not work when I first boot unless I physically disconnect and reconnect them. The lights will be lit on the devices to show that they're getting power but they just don't work until I disconnect/reconnect. It's not every boot, which is even weirder. I've been using Macs for many MANY years and I've never had this issue. I've had this Mac for about 5 years now, and as stated, this issue just began. I DID try step 1 in troubleshooting, calling them names, but that didn't work. It's a Mac not Windoze so I won't do step 2, which is when you reboot, you kick it with the other foot. Any ideas?

Probably not one you will want to hear but try different keyboard and/or mouse or try using current keyboard/mouse combo using a powered USB hub. Curious if the issue persists.
