Basically, my iphone 3gs fails to turn on (this phone is relatively new). I tried holding down the power and home buttons at the same time, nothing happened. Then when I connect the iphone to my Macbook, the message says the phone is in recovery mode. After I attempted to restore, I received this message- cannot be restored, device isn’t eligible or something. I don’t understand the message but the phone fails to turn on, please help I am worried sick. (additionally, the battery is charged)

First open iTunes and Conect your iPhone cord to your computer, but do not plug it into your iPhone. Then press and hold the home button on your phone while conecting the iPhone cord into your iPhone continue to hold down the home button. Then click restore in iTunes. Good Luck!

you should be able to restore..if not it may be a hardware problem.
