Okay, so this is something I've been wondering about since I upgraded the RAM in my G5 at home: is there an optimum configuration for RAM pairings?
Here's exactly what I mean:
I have 6GB of RAM in my G5 in 4 pairs of 512MB sticks and 4 pairs of 1GB sticks. By sheer coincidence, the the first and last pairs are 1GB pairs and the inner two pairs are 512MB. I know that matching up the pairs is important, but is there any particular slot configuration that's better than any other?
This is probably a weird and dumb question, but I figured that somebody would be able to tell me something about it one way or another.
Thanks in advance!
