Some people have multiple personalities and having more than one watch is needed.

Some people have two or more watches; one for work, one for casual use, one for sports, and one for sleeping.

Cool.

I had a series 5 and wanted a series 6 and just kept the series 5. I use the 6 the most and use the series 5 when I need to do something like unpair and repair the 6.

Because I want to. There's a whole other thread somewhere where we discuss this very question. For me, it's three different looks and materials - I have an s6 Nike Space Grey, an s5 Stainless Steel, and an s5 white Ceramic Edition. I rotate through them and never wear the same one two days in a row. Each looks different with different color/type bands, and I have favorite combos.

Just one for me.
44mm S6 I put a silicone strap on when I’m refereeing rugby or playing ice hockey.

use a fabric strap for everyday

I currently only have one (SS S4 40mm), but for a while I kept my old S0 aluminum as a "beater" watch for when I was doing things like out working in the yard and didn't want to get it filthy.

I have 2- silver aluminum S6 & white ceramic S3. The S6 actually came first, the S3 was an ebay purchase just a few months ago. I've wanted a ceramic for ages and the only S5s I could find were all 44mm and absurdly overpriced, like $1500+. Found that one for $400 and since S3 is still new enough to be usable, why not. I have 3 phones too and it's just easier to keep the S3 paired to the 'main' one and swap the S6 around to whichever other one I'm using at the time since it pairs & unpairs faster. And when the S7 comes out I'll probably have 3 watches, definitely if they bring back ceramic this year(please pretty please bring it back!).

Different case colours go with different bands and different clothing. So it’s as much about wanting to have multiple options than it is anything else. Much like having the same items of clothing in more than one colour.

It’s not needed but that’s consumerism for you. We buy things because we like them more than we need them. To each their own. Enjoy your decisions in life and don’t let anyone else’s put you off or make you feel like it’s wrong.

I have two: S5 SBSS and SE Nike Space Gray. I mainly use the SBSS as I have cellular on it as well. I use the SE when I'm working outside the house (i.e. mowing the lawn/landscaping) and when I golf.

I bought the SE used for a good deal, so that is the one I don't mind getting banged up compared to my SBSS.

I personally have no need for more than one but it seems like some people have some good thoughts behind it. They don't last forever so rotating them can increase the life span and keep the batteries fresh too

I have an S3 Ceramic and an S6 Titanium. In my case I like being able to wear a watch 24/7 and just swap when the battery gets low. I have multiple apps like HeartWatch and AutoSleep that work by analyzing continuously available health data, so that's the easiest way to avoid breaks for charging.

I have a similar love for the Ceramic :). I bought the S3 Ceramic, skipped the S4 easily since there was no ceramic, was tempted by the S5 but ultimately didn't find it compelling enough. Finally got a S6 Titanium since I didn't want to wait any longer for an upgrade. Fingers crossed Ceramic comes back with S7.

I have 2 phones I carry and I have a watch on each arm.

Mainly to know if I can use my second Apple Watch still ? Basically can I have two Apple Watches sync to one iPhone?
Well, it probably would have been very helpful to readers of this thread to know exactly why you were interested in this in the first place.....and the responses would have been much more targeted towards your actual concern. The bottom line is, yes, you can have two Apple Watches synced to one and the same iPhone.

I kept my old watch when I upgraded. Both of mine serve different purposes. I realized that I enjoy owning two watches way more than I did with just one so I’m probably going to continue doing so!
