Hello all. As of today, there is a weird red mark on my 17in macbook screen. It's really odd because it's not just a dead pixel (at least as far as I'm concerned). I don't even know how to describe it. Here is a picture:

It's only very noticeable on darker colors.

Looks like some of the child blood that got trapped in there from the factory finally started to seep through...

If it's still under warranty just take it in and see what they can do for you.

The dead is communicating with you.

Ok, on a serious note, I would definitely take it in to Apple to check on the issue. I have never seen anything like that. Is it reproducible on other gradients besides black? Is it visible during regular light conditions?

Haha I'm loving all the creative responses. It's most visible on dark colors (black, dark grey, grey). On brighter colors it's almost non existent, although if I look very closely you could see it very faintly.

I think I'm still under warrantly so I'll take it in. Hopefully I come out with one of the new 15inch pros (me and my dad both had 17inchs, and the screen on mine was bugging out. We took it to apple, and since they dont make 17's anymore, they just gave us one of the new 15 inchs pros, since they monetary value was about the same, although a much better computer).
