Weird sound in earbuds

Hi, I have a white 2010 Macbook. Since yesterday, it's been making a weird sound when my earbuds are in. It sounds like a fan, but my computer fan is running just as smoothly and quietly as it ever is. When the earbuds are out, I don't hear a thing. I have tried multiple earbuds and am very confused at this point.

Any ideas?

Is there anything anyone might think I should try resetting? ...or something?

Nevermind, an SMC reset or whatever it's called did the trick.
