Weird Spotlight problem...

Hello.
I have a G5 iMac 17 inch superdrive.
I have a probleme with spotlight...
it works and everything but when I type something into it, sometimes it puts results but the icones next to the results take time to load, and when they do, they just load from the top to the bottom.
Is it normal?
If no, can I do something about it???

Yes, it's normal. That's just a side effect of how Spotlight works. It has the filenames available right away, so it shows them to you as soon as it can. Looking up the icons takes a little more time, so that happens a little more slowly.

How much RAM have you got. LaunchServices icon cache could be getting paged out which will slow down icon lookup...

How much time are we talking? For me, an average search takes about 3-4 seconds, from the time I finish typing until the list is complete (with icons filled in). If you consider this slow, you need some patience If it's taking considerably longer, you may have a problem.
