Weird symbols in Office 2008?

Hey all,

I've been getting weird symbols since I did a reinstall of Office '08 cos of missing fonts. Lately I've been getting these weird symbols in place of what I assume are missing characters in my documents.

This is how it looks like:

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be extremely grateful. Been searching around and I can't find any solutions, so pardon me if this question has been asked before. Thanks!
