Weird thing on conversation list

I have an iPhone 4, 5.0.1. The other day a bell with a line appeared (will not go away with restart) beside the name of one of my contacts on my conversation list. What does it mean? I know that when the phone is in silent you see the bell with the line through it but this is beside one contacts name only and my phone is not on silent. Also I don't know if it matters but I use bite SMS.
