I keep getting a prompt to enter password to unlock an external Samsung T7 SSD whethere it is connected or not on 13.1. Right now it's connected and unlocked and still the prompt to enter the password comes up. I also have some weird "UPDATE" volume open up on the desktop. Anyone know what the heck is going on?

Thanks.

This is with no disks attached. Also when I tried to eject update volume this happened(image 2).

I really wanted to see it with the T7 attached. Please do that.

Your boot disk structure looks normal except for one thing. Do you know what T7-4 is? Is is not created as part of macOS install and its name suggests it has something to do with your T7 SSD. It should not be there. Have you run any Samsung software?

The "Update" volume and all the others in your second screenshot should never be visibly mounted. They are part of the APFS structure on an Apple silicon based Mac. See https://eclecticlight.co/2021/01/14/m1-macs-radically-change-boot-and-recovery/ for description of disk structure on an M1 Mac.

T7-4 is just the name i use for the samsung drive. it's the 4th Samsung T7 on my desk.

The T7-4 in your screenshot is an APFS volume on your boot disk. Anyway I will wait and see what "diskutil list" shows when the Samsung is connected.
