Just got my 15" MacBook Pro (very nice!) with standard configuration--including the 4x SuperDrive.

Using Toast 7.0 I attempted to shoot some video to an up-to-8x, 4.7GB Fujifilm DVD-R. After selecting DVD_Video from VIDEO_TS, I hit burn and everything looked fine.

The disc burned about 90% of the way through before coming up with the following error:

"Sense Key = Hardware Error

0x03, 0x01"

I googled the error message to little avail and am completely confounded by why the disc would stop with no more than 1 minute left on the burn. Anyone with insight, tips, leads, suggestions, basic information would be very, very much appreciated.

Thoughts:

I would try burning using Disk Ultility & see if the same thing happens. That will tell you if you have a hardware problem or a software problem.

That will determine your next step.
