I have a weird problem that occurs after waking my sleeping PowerBook, and adjusting the volume.

For some reason, instead of the bleeping noise to indicate volume change, i get a quiet clicking sound, that is out of sync with the pressing of the button.

I have 1GB of RAM and it occurs even with no applications running. Definately not a shortage of RAM.

I've repaired disk permissions, reset PRAM and PMU. Still happens. I have 22 GB left of 80, so it's really not close to being too crammed.

Thanks in advance...

Rich.

It's an issue of the portable not sending power to the speakers in a long time that causes that to happen. I've got the same issue on my iBook. There's nothing that you can really do about it.

My PowerBook is 22 months old, has the new recent replacement battery and has been fine, up until I upgraded to Tiger a week ago.

Why has it only now started?

I'm not sure it is the issue that you speak of, as it happens after sleeping it for only 10 seconds.

Any help?

Rich.
