Weird wallpaper bug, creating new desktops through MC yields old wallpaper

Hey MR,

I recently upgraded to ML from Lion. One hitch I've come across so far is that I set my desktop wallpaper to the new ML galaxy one, but when I create a new desktop window, it reverts to an old wallpaper I had (the beach one). Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also as a side question, I feel like my fans kick in more often than before on Lion, even though I do the same tasks. Is it just me?
 
Ah, yes! I'm so glad to finally learn I'm not the only one having that problem. Its so annoying when i change my wallpaper, yet when I make a new desktop, it uses the old one.

And yea, I've noticed that my fans kick on more often as well. Why does it do that?
