Over the last 48-72 hours, my phone's developed a new trick--the weather seems to be periodically reverting to the same previous cached data. I thought at first it was a problem with a specific widget with a weather icon (though that had run for more than a week without incident), but when changing widgets didn't work, I checked the weather app. Sure enough, the same thing shows up there on some refreshes. But it's not showing that way on Yahoo Weather's site, at least, not that I can catch. Nor is it happening on my husband's stock phone, as far as we can tell. (The widget makes the problem easier to spot on mine.)

Basically, night or day, it's periodically showing as a night icon (for fair weather) with a temp of 52 degrees. It typically clears with a respring, but not always; sometimes I have to respring two or three times. Though the date & time on the "updated" info at the bottom of the weather app is current, the high and low temps for the current day are wrong--they're consistently showing as 78 & 51 degrees, and the days of the week are wrong too--the data appears to be from Saturday.

I've hunted around, dug through here and Google, and I can't find a cache for the Weather app hiding in the system. The cached jpg found in /var/mobile/Library/Caches/Snapshots/com.apple.weather is always current. I've turned off everything in Winterboard, deleted a bunch of stuff I was no longer using, tried a full reboot, deleted & reentered the data for the city in Yahoo Weather several times, etc. Nothing seems to affect it, and I can't find a trigger that consistently replicates the issue.

Thoughts? Is there a cache somewhere for weather that I just can't find? I'm willing enough to do a restore, but not until I'm reasonably sure I haven't missed something obvious, because I'm not going to have the time to do one for a few days yet.

[iPhone 4; 4.2.1/1.59 with Pwnage, and a billion packages, none weather related. Only thing added recently was iBlacklist, and this problem appeared at least five days after that.]

Screenshots, all from today, Monday 9/5. First is the glitch as seen in the app (note that Saturday shows as the current "day"), second is the glitch shown a minute later on the lockscreen. Third is the same widget on the home screen--no error showing, data is correct. Fourth is the weather app a few minutes later, after a respring or two, showing correct data again.

Edit: after a ton of research and a lot of refreshing & fiddling--I'm reasonably sure it's a Yahoo issue on just one of their servers. Got it to show on the Yahoo weather site through Safari on the iPad, and found a report in a developer forum of the same issue two years ago. Hopefully once the holiday weekend is over with tomorrow, they'll fix it. It happens on any location, but I've had to refresh (browser) or respring (app & widget) a few times to get it to show on demand.
