lately i've been experiencing a lot of wifi problems running 10.7.1. google chrome constantly is unable to load webpages even though wifi shows that its connected. my iphone on wifi is able to browse so its not the wifi or router's problem
interesting enough though, i've discovered that anytime a page doesn't load (google chrome shows spinning circle icon) if i touch and hold where the mini-displayport connector (i have an external monitor) attaches to my mbp, my wifi signal instantly jumps back.
i've verified this by using the the istat pro wifi widget. if i'm streaming a video and i hold onto the connector, my speeds hover around 168 kb/s (according to istat). releasing the mini-displayport connector causes speeds to plummet down to 2-3 kb/s.
what can be causing this discrepancy and how can i fix it? could the mere contact of my hand on the connection somehow amplify the wifi module's ability to connect? i really need this fixed; i don't want to constantly hold onto the connection just to have it work. thanks.
