I have something weird going on with the "Sharing" pane in System Preferences on my MacBook Pro.

If I look at that preference pane on my iMac, there's the usual "padlock" icon at the bottom left, and next to it the text, "Click the lock to make changes." I have to click the padlock icon and enter my admin password to make changes.

But on my MacBook Pro, when I first launch System Preferences and click the "Sharing" pane, for a brief fraction of a second I can see the lock icon - unlocked - at the bottom left, but then it disappears. (I have to quit System Preferences, relaunch it and then select the "Sharing" pane to see this very brief appearance of the unlocked padlock icon. If I just stay in System Preferences and switch from the "Sharing" pane to some other one, or all of them, and then back again, it won't appear - or it's too fast for me to see.)

Has anyone a clue what's going on here? I don't like the look of it!

I'm running Yosemite on both machines. No sharing services are on on either machine.

UPDATE - after rebooting my iMac - it's happening on that too.. :(

UPDATE 2 - the same thing happens on the "Network" preference pane.
