Apple does this so that the products are in their system. Meaning, the second the keynote ends, the home page changes to "iPhone 5". I'm sure with enough digging after their "back", someone will find images about the phone.

With the big announcement less than a day and a half away, I can't help but wish that Apple would have changed the availability on the current phones.

I mean, would it really have hurt them to change it to 'Shipping in 4-7 days'?

Sure, if someone who doesn't know about the 5 orders a 4S tomorrow, they would likely be able to return and exchange it, but why should they have to go through that kind of hassle?

Because 1, some people don't care to upgrade to the next model as the 4S will work just fine for them. And 2, I'm sure Apple want's to sell as many as possible so they don't have massive stock on their hands of a previous gen.

Hopefully, there will be a new thread every time the App Store goes offline.

Some people will be just fine with their 4s, or 4. And believe it or not, lots of people will not even know a new phone was just announced, even on Wed or thursday or friday of this week. Really.
