I updated to iOS 16, and noticed that after watching a video on my phone, the video will appear on my Lock Screen. For example, if I switch Safari to “Private” and view a video, then stop the video and exit “Private,” when the phone locks, there’s the video, right on my Lock Screen.

Not that I’d watch any videos in “Private” mode which are, well.. “private,” but maybe some people do. At any rate, I could not find the button labeled “Disable the video I was watching that I don’t want anybody to know I was watching from appearing on my Lock Screen,” and was wondering where that switch might be. Just asking for a friend.

I thought that's how all the previous versions are. Just like if you start a song, stop it. Then lock the screen, it will appear there for a short time. This is so that you can start it again. I have been seeing and using this since I don't remember how long in previous versions.

But if you force close the app before you lock your screen, the media will not appear on the lock screen.

I'm on 15.7 and when I stop a video/movie the "now playing" widget appears on the Lock Screen. There isn't any picture of what you were watching but, the title of the video is shown.. It been that way for a long time...
Oh. I didn’t think it would appear on the Lock Screen if it was played in “Private” mode, but I suppose it does.
