The 3G Iphone must have a very good wireless receiver, because I just compared the speed of my laptop which is hard wired to my DSL modem, to the 3G getting the same connection wirelessly from my Link Sys N-router, and the iphone consistently gets slightly faster speeds, the difference is slight, but still, I would have expected the phone to get slower speeds wireless, against a very good/strong laptop that's getting the same signal through a direct, wired connection. Interesting. :)

I'm still pretty happy overall with the 3G. :)

If it's speeds to the Internet and not to your own home LAN then this doesn't surprise me one bit. Your DSL modem has much lower bandwidth than your wired LAN connection or wireless 802.11g connection is capable of transmitting at. If you had a larger pipe to the Internet then you would notice a difference.
