Well that seals the deal then doesn't it. With the article wording of launching late this year I suppose it's possible to see skylake with usb-c thunderbolt by years end.

I'm not surprised at all. Thunderbolt never gained traction, outside of apple. While Apple had a hand in helping intel with this, I blame intel for this failure. They should pushed harder to increase the adoption rate.

The exclusivity deal with Apple at the start for a year was utter stupidity.

That's fantastic. Can't wait to see this implemented in products. Hopefully, we'll start seeing more Thunderbolt-capable displays now.
