One time at a Starbucks in CT I saw a guy driving a Nissan GTR and he had a Macbook Pro... that's the life right there.

I see quite a few when my wife and I go. I saw a guy with his Imac in the local Starbucks!

You went to 3 different Starbucks locations in 1 day? Not that it's hard to get from one to the other. How much lousy coffee do you drink in a day?

I'm kind of wondering why the OP would visit three different SB's in one day?

Mac Watching?
Caffeine addiction?
Trying to hit on the ladies but realizing in the process your love for Apples is stronger than love of women?

maybe because they did their work on iPads or read the email on iPhones? Or maybe you have mistaken the MacBook Air for a small piece of paper?

I may not be a Starbucks fan, but I'll take the GTR any day although I do love the M3, especially in the outrageous bright teal paint and dark red interior. I am more of a M5 kind of guy as the 4 doors and extra room is better when the office goes out to lunch and you are driving 2 rater tall people. When the M3 went to an 8 though, I was POd as the I6 is so the M3; I think they are going to an I6 TT for the coming update. With all that said, I prefer the 911 Turbo over all of them as you get track performance (much faster than the current Ferrari 458) on a street car which you can drive every day of the year, even in snow. Howd we get on this topic again?

This is lacking a lot of potentially relevant data.

1. What time of day was it? If during the day it could indicate that PC users are more likely to be unemployed than Mac users.

2. How many total PCs did you see? If it was 3 Macs and 6 PCs, then that's a pretty good ratio. If there were 1,281 PCs, then that's another story perhaps.

3. What type of coffee did you purchase on each trip? Perhaps you were overloaded on caffeine when you decided that this was a good topic to post. ;)

Other potential variables to consider:
-Weather
-Geographic location
-The amount of MBPs to PC laptops in a ratio (I wouldn't be surprised if you saw 50 PCs and 2 Macs that percentage wise there were more Macs)
-Other coffee shops that may attract Mac users
-Local infrastructure that make it unfriendly to use a Mac and so Mac people have to use a PC
-SES and population demographics of the surrounding area
-Average age
-If people with MBPs bring them in public less as they are more expensive

Or could it be that more people with the Macs are employed or have more important things to do and don't have time to dick around in a coffee shop all day long?

I hate those people. They've been around ever since Apple released the PowerBook in 1991, sitting around in coffee shops in the middle of the day wasting time. They always have a 15" MBP £1500 laptop that they use for word processing and light web browsing. They can't wait to give you their liberalist view on the world (I'm liberal, but nothing about being liberal means I have to give a crap about your opinion, because I honestly don't, why care about mine? That's the reason I come on places like here, for intelligent debate in my own time).

Oh and Starbucks is awful.. just awful.

Just shows people who have no taste in coffee have no taste in computers either ;)

:D Where's the "like" button!?

@nick9191: What's the problem with using a 15" MBP for word processing and web browsing? Is there a more suitable 15" laptop out there that won't present lots of headaches? Are you sure they are "wasting time" and not writing? I know plenty of writers who both own a 15" laptop and prefer to work in coffee shops (not, thankfully, Starbucks).
