WEP Cracking with KisMAC on Airport

So I am trying for educational purposes to crack a WEP key on my own wifi network.
I have downloaded and installed KisMAC, but when I try and run a scan with My Airport in passive mode, all channels selected, nothing happens.

Here is my Airport Card

But when I go to scan networks, nothing happens. I have tried researching this, and some people are saying oh you need to complile this, or get the trunk of that. My brain goes :eek:

Hoping someone had some tips for me, thanks.

It's not that it blows my mind, just that I would like some individual help on this specific scenario.
Downloading Xcode now, forgot to throw it back on here after the new HD.

This was probably the wrong forum to post this in then.
I have registered and posted over in the Kismac forums now, whatever I learn I will update here for others users to glean.

You have to use active mode, airport internal card sucks donkey nuts so you won't be doing much cracking with it alone, you'll need a USB wifi card that supports injection and such because airport doesn't. You can try to collect IVs from your network but in order to crack WEP you'll need a lot, to collect a lot of them without injection you'll be there for a week or so.
 
ramphex is correct. If you really care, just check out their compatible hardware list. Go to Kismac forum's if you need further help. MR is not pro-wep cracking.

Hm I don't understand why when I try it out in active everything looks like this?
