Apparently our scores were dragged down in the "governance" section. Our voter turnout ranks 60% (compared to OECD average of 72%) and by how difficult it is use the "access to information" mechanisms (I'm looking at you Mr Harper).

I have some friends who are now starting to spend 6 months here, and then 6 months in Oz. Best of both worlds. Although bizarrely they are spending winters here/there this year. But that's due to the timing of a new grandchild.
PARIS Canadians have a "better life" than anyone in the western world except by a narrow margin Australians, according to a new analysis released Tuesday.
