We're talking real 'green' energy

MIT are working on a project harness photosynthetic process to someday power our cellphones and laptops. Popeye knew about the power of spinach and possibly we wil see it being used in 10 years. It will be a spinach power cell.

for some reason it reminds me of the matrix, how our bodies our bodies are used to power machines, we can use plants to power our electronics.

I'm hoping that Zhang will obtain the needed $1 - 2 billion investment. Would like to see this in the real world in 10 years or lees. Much more practical than solar, not have to worry about getting in the sun. We need to be able to use our laptop anywhere.

yeah, if i were really rich i would want to invest in things like these, rather than in expensive cars and masions.

There are still a bunch of issues to work out from the sound of it. Also what materials will this cell need to operate, do we have to keep it wet? How efficient is it compared to a PV cell?
