I'm planning on jumping from a PC to a new iMac when they are available to order. Looking at external 4TB USB 3.0 hard drives and I see Western Digital has two types in the 4TB range. WDBACW0040HBK-NESN (PC version) and WDBCPZ0040HAL (Silver MAC version)
A few questions:
1) Anyone have either unit as of yet?
2) Does anyone know the spindle speed of these units? Hoping 7200rpm.
3) Besides the price of the MAC ready version being higher, anyone see any real difference in features besides the higher cost and silver color to match the iMac?
Thinking if the color is not a big deal, and the format is the only difference its not worth the extra $$ for the MAC unit when the PC one can be simply re-formatted using the iMac.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Nick
