Western Digital Blue 500GB Killing Battery

Has anyone bought the new Western Digital 500GB Blue HDD running 5400RPM and 8MB Cache. I just replaced my Hitachi 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache and noticed the WD HDD spins a lot more and seems to take an extra 30-45 min orr of my battery time. Has anyone noticed this, I am thinking of getting a Hitachi 500GB instead.
 
i have this same hard drive and haven't had any problems with it at all... i did a clean install of snow leopard on it and reinstalled all my software one by one. did you time machine yours?
