Hi,

I have just purchased a Western Digital MyBook 250GB Essential Edition external hard drive off eBay. The model number is WD250011032.

I have it plugged into a power source and into my MacBook via USB, however I cannot find it anywhere in the operating system. I presumed it would just display as any other USB drive in the top right hand corner.

The documentation that comes with the drive states that it is compatible with Mac OSX 10.2.8, I am on 10.6.6.

There's no CD or anything that comes with it, so i'm struggling to test if it works or not.

This is the drive - http://reviews.cnet.com/external-hard-drives/western-digital-my-book/4505-3190_7-31792597.html

Any help very much appreciated.
