i would like to use my 500gb Western Digital My DVR Expander as an external HD on my iMac 27" if possible. the dvr is esata and has an esata cable connected to it. does anyone know if this will work and if so, what kind of cable or adapter should i get to connect it to the imac ?

"you can't"

why can't i ? the $300 tivo hd unit failed after 18 months and they want to trade me for a refurbished unit if i pay $149 plus shipping, which i'm not going to do even though i like the tivo way of recording. in checking the unit out tivo support erased all recorded content from the dvr expander, so no copyright problems.
the wd website informs me that the expander will not work as a portable but i don't plan to move it from computer to computer, i just hope to let it sit behind my new 27" imac and be a storage unit.
can i not because of western digital restrictions ?
