Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition II very very slow

The Quickbench 4 test just simply won't complete with this drive. It takes forever to move from step to step. There's no way this drive is functioning correctly. I'm just surprised it can be this slow.

I've got other drives on my system and they complete the QuickBench 4 test very quickly.

Update: took both drives out and tried the same test with each inserted into a Voyager Q drive dock.

Drive A doesn't perform the Standard Test where as Drive B has no problem.

This unit is probably only 3 months old.

Anybody know what are my options?

Feel free to move it then.

Right now I have Drive A in my OWC Voyager Drive Dock and it's running shred with Drive Genius 3 and I swear it's averaging about 1 block a second. only 15,258,200 blocks to go.

Odd fault this one. Drive just appears to be very very slow to do anything with.
