What about a MacRumor chat box?

last night wile most of us were waiting on the keynote to upload one of the users of this site posted a link to a chat box under the macrumor brand, is this official? and if so, how come we are not using this, or how come we don't have chat on the site?

it was pretty cool :p and the chat seems to be open right now but there is no mention of it in the site.
 
There is MacRumors IRC channel which is same as chat box. I think my sig still has link for instructions
 
I was reading the link in your sig and i see the reasons why they consider it is not a god idea (which are concrete facts) so this only tells me that the chat i participated in last night was created by someone for that particular night without consent of the site owners

Could be but feel free to join the chat anyway, we have like 20 regular people there all the time and fresh blood is never bad. Yesterday it was very crowded because of WWDC
