Yeah, I really don't mind it being gone considering they used it for years . And having a different looking lid is good for a change. I really wouldn't want to own multiple MacBooks that looked the same with that glowing Apple logo. The aesthetic was starting to wear thin. I'm glad they got rid of it.
Amen. So glad mine doesn't have that retard light behind the screen. Good to see some other sensible folks around here.Personally, I don't care that much. I'd prefer the logo to stay unlit because I think its silly and also fairly annoying when using the laptop in a dark environment.

Ummm, excuse me!!It's actually better for your eyes to have the background illuminated when working in a dark environment - which an illuminated Apple logo does. For this reason I really like the feature. Much less eye strain over long periods of use in a dark room in comparison with the newer MacBook Pro.
Ummm, excuse me!!
We have night shift implemented now.

Well, to make a joke about it, if you work after six p.m., you're doing something wrong. And for the other supposedly SHORT activities, it's more than enoughDude.....night shift is the same as on an iPhone. It does squat over long periods of time for your eyes. Your eyes need ambient light in order to not strain your eyesight. I recommend doing some research on that one![]()

Just wait until the Macbooks get so thin that the whole screen will shine through the other side anyway![]()
According to this Reddit thread, the glowing Apple logo is coming back in next years MacBook update.
