I picked up a 15" i7 MBP with the high resolution display and a 500 GB 7200 drive. It's hot! but!

I think my 180 GB iPhoto/Aperture library is slowing everything down quite a bit.

What if I used a fast 32 GB SD card with Snow Leopard and my main username library and apps as my boot drive and partitioned the internal drive so 32 GB would be a daily SuperDuper! backup of the operating system on the SD card and the rest of the HD would be my files?

Would this help me pick up some speed?

Thank you in advance!
