I was browsing yesterday and I noticed that the webpage http://adventurebuddies.net/blog/20...poles-vs-trekking-poles-whats-the-difference/ gives me the following warning on Chrome:

Danger: Malware Ahead!
Google Chrome has blocked access to this page on adventurebuddies.net.
Content from www.topblogarea.com, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your Mac with malware.
Malware is malicious software that causes things like identity theft, financial loss, and permanent file deletion.

I see the problem anywhere on the website's blogging area. I sent a notice to the owner of the website to let them know.

What actual risk of infection is there to viewers of blogs with content from topblogarea.com? What is the risk of infection to Mac users by visiting the topblogarea.com website?

TIA

Topblogarea.com was probably hacked and used to distribute malware via the content provided by its service.

The risk of being infected by malware without you being tricked to explicitly install it is virtually zero.
