Hey guys.. I'm looking to get another 17" LCD and I already have the smaller DVI port taken up with the DVI to VGA adapter, but what adapter do I need to convert the other port with the lip looking thing to VGA? I've seen it done.. but not sure what I'm looking for.. I've attached a picture

Edit: Sorry if this is another topic, I would have searched but I'm not sure what it's called to even search for it

Pretty easy to find.

That connector is called the ADC connector (it holds Power, USB and Digital data for the Apple "clear" displays). The correct dongle will be called an ADC-VGA (if running an older VGA display), or an ADC-DVI for the newer Digital displays (what Apple currently sells).

Either adapter can be found at your local CompUsa or at Apple Online.

I'm pretty sure that's an ADC connection (Apple proprietary connection that carries DVI video, power and USB signals to the older cinema displays), you'll need a DVI LCD monitor to plug it into and an ADC to DVI adapter.

You may be able to get them from the Apple store online but I'm not too sure, they are pretty expensive if I recall.

Anybody else with more knowledge want to pipe up? I'm not 100% sure on this.

EDIT: Yeah, that guy up there is right. Do what he says.

BTW...can you connect a DVI - VGA adapter to one of these and use a VGA CRT?

ADC-DVI-VGA??
